CSM is pleased to offer mock exams for piano and voice students for the Spring Session. Our mock examinations are set up to simulate an actual Royal Conservatory examination with the exception that a mark is not given. Students are provided with written feedback in each area of the exam.
This masterclass provides an ideal opportunity for vocalists ages 12+ to sing a classical, musical theatre, folk song or light opera selection and receive feedback on their performance. With a focus on stage presence, musicality and diction, Heather Henderson-Hryhoriw will assist each student in refining their musical artistry and performance skills.
The newest addition to CSM's vocal faculty, Heather Henderson-Hryhoriw is a previous vocal adjudicator of the Chinook Celebration of Music Festival.
INDIE PEP is designed for teen singers who want to grow their popular music performance skills. Students share their music at open mics and participate in a workshop series that focus on topics such as how to create an effective set list, choosing repertoire well suited to the voice, developing unique cover songs, and refining stage presence and persona.
Vocal PEP is the perfect compliment to private vocal lessons. PEP students experience a performance opportunity each month in a dynamic and supportive group environment where they can grow and learn as musicians.
Studying theory can greatly enhance student’s understanding and enjoyment of music. Starting music theory at a young age strengthens student’s abilities to read notes and understand repertoire. Group theory programs are a great way to save money and develop peer support systems to ensure success!
