Lisa MacLeod, Flute

Lisa MacLeod is a dedicated and passionate flute teacher with over 20 years of experience. Lisa works with both children and adults, ranging from beginners to advanced, helping them develop strong fundamentals, refine their technique, and cultivate a deep appreciation for music.

Lisa's journey with music started at a young age. This passion for music led her to study with Calgary teachers Mary Sullivan and Sara Hahn-Scinocco. Over the years, Lisa has also been fortunate to play for Emily Marks, Katy Wherry, Dr. Matthew Allison, Gwen Klassen, Lea Pearson, and Meerenai Shim.

Lisa has significant experience working with beginning flutists and her teaching style incorporates elements of the Suzuki method. Her teaching style is inclusive and encouraging and has allowed her students to excel, including receiving gold medal awards with the Royal Conservatory of Music.

As an active performer, Lisa currently holds chairs with the Calgary Wind Symphony and Ambrose Chamber Orchestra. Lisa is also an active freelancer and has performed with many ensembles within Calgary, including the Calgary Civic Symphony, Front Row Centre, Fire Exit, and Morpheus Theatres.

Above all, Lisa's teaching philosophy centers around the belief that every student has the potential to succeed with the right guidance and support. Whether you are starting the flute or looking to take your playing to the next level, Lisa is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and become the best flutist you can be.
