Nina Cen, Piano
Nina is a classically trained pianist with over 20 years of music experience. She completed her Grade 10 RCM requirements in 2013. After a brief hiatus to finish her engineering degree in Edmonton, she rekindled her piano career in Calgary through musical theatre. Nina was the rehearsal and show pianist for Painted Fish Performing Arts Society’s productions of Fiddler on the Roof (2024) and Wizard of Oz (2025). She was also the keyboard player in the pit orchestra for Front Row Centre’s production of Sweeney Todd (2025). Nina loves collaborating with other musicians and thrives as a piano accompanist. She is the current accompanist for the Calgary Boys’ Choir, and was the accompanist for Blend Vocal, an auditioned treble choir, for their winter concert.
Nina also spent six years learning French Horn in junior high and high school bands, during which time she was part of a woodwind quintet. She also has several years of vocal experience through private lessons and singing in Blend Vocal, when she is not accompanying. Her latest passion project is learning to play the organ. Nina’s experiences in collaborative piano and time spent learning other instruments has helped her build a well-rounded perspective of piano music. She is eager to share that with her students to help them grow into versatile musicians, all while having lots of fun!
