Ages 6 Months to 5 Years

Established in 2005, Music Kids is Chinook School of Music’s early childhood music program for ages six months to five years. Our modern approach to music education integrates scientific research supporting the positive role that music plays on brain development and emotional regulation.

Ages 4 & 5

A joyful introduction to piano for ages 4 & 5. Young learners build a solid foundation through playful keyboard exploration, early note reading, rhythm development, and creative musical expression.

Ages 4 & 5

Explore the fundamentals of violin playing in this beginner group class. Our young musicians learn essential skills and techniques such as bowing, note reading and rhythm comprehension in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Ages 5 & 6

What could possibly be more fun than making music with your child? This beginner class offers a special opportunity to connect through the joy of learning ukulele together. Explore strumming, rhythm, melody and chords. Build a collection of songs to perform and play together!

Ages 6-11

Develop your musical artistry and grow your confidence in performing! Piano and Song Club is available for all students enrolled in private piano and/or voice lessons. In each session, musicians perform a musical selection and receive insightful feedback. Learn how to tell a story with your music, enhance your listening skills and discover new dimensions of creative expression.

Designed for intermediate/advanced vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists and saxophonists, Adult Rock Band offers a chance to jam, grow and perform. Musicians are guided through the process of selecting and arranging music, refining collaboration skills and honing performance techniques. A live performance takes place at the end of each session.

Perform jazz standards by legends like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Ella Fitzgerald and more. Whether you are new to jazz or a seasoned player looking to get back into it, our supportive environment will help you develop your skills in style, improvisation, performance, and collaboration.

Intermediate /advanced instrumentalists - piano, bass, drums, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, flute, and trumpet are welcome!

This customized program will have you jamming with your friends and family in no time! Explore strumming patterns and rhythms, learn picking techniques and build a collection of your favourite tunes.

Adults who have guitar playing experience or have already taken a level 1 class are encouraged to register in level 2 or 3. If you are unsure which class level is the best fit, please contact us.

Open to cellists of all levels, this is a wonderful opportunity to grow as a musician, connect with fellow players and experience the joy of making music together. Delve into parts, arrangements, and a rich collection of songs spanning genres from folk and pop to jazz and beyond. Perfect for Level One Fireside Ukulele graduates or anyone comfortable on the ukulele seeking a fully collaborative ensemble experience.

Get Into the holiday spirit through song! This 7-week vocal ensemble is designed for adult female singers of all experience levels. We'll explore classic and contemporary holiday repertoire and develop ensemble skills in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. The program culminates in a collaborative final performance, where you'll join forces with other adult ensembles to share the magic of the season in a joyful community concert. Whether you're a seasoned singer or just returning to music, come add your voice to the sound of the season!
