Performance Masterclass Series
Chinook School of Music's first educational performance opportunity of the year!
All Chinook School of Music students are encouraged to participate in the Performance Masterclass Series. This educational platform offers students the opportunity to perform a musical selection and receive valuable feedback from our esteemed faculty members.
By signing up for a Performance Masterclass, students have the benefit of setting a meaningful goal to practice and work towards. Students consistently emerge from their performance masterclasses feeling inspired and deeply motivated! The Performance Masterclass provides the perfect environment for musicians of all instruments to come together and share their music with students of similar ages and levels. It is a fantastic opportunity to refine technical and artistic skills and build confidence in performing.
All ages, levels, and instruments. All genres of music are welcome.
Location: Chinook School of Music SW Marda Loop, Studio Bravo and Studio Encore.
Registration fee: $20 per class.
Details:
Classes are approximately one hour in length.
Students are asked to provide a copy of their music to the instructor when they arrive.
Vocal students are required to bring a backup track to sing along to on either a phone or laptop.
Each performer may bring one audience member to the class.
Piano students may sign up for more than one class.
What is my grade/level?
Performance Masterclasses are organized by age or level of study.
Piano students:
Elementary Piano: Student is playing from a beginner lesson book series such as My First Piano Adventures - Piano Adventures Lesson Book 2 / RCM level 2
Intermediate Piano: RCM levels 3-7
Advanced Piano: RCM levels 8+

Drum Masterclass & Gear Setup Clinic
A peer group gathering to showcase your current practice challenge or a song you are working on with constructive feedback provided from the instructor and group.
Gear Set up clinic:
-Demystify hardware setup and tuning.
-Bring your snare drum and tuning key and learn to get the best sound out of your most important drum.
-Q&A session. 'Why don't my drums sound like they do on recordings?'
